Punte del Este
For the first three weeks of February, in addition to the beach, what is there of interest in Punte del Este?
My wife and I are invited to spend some time there and I would like some information on other activities as well as visiting the beach, which I understand is fantastic.
Thanks,
Woodie

I would suggest some research both here and in:

My friend Punta Lugano is an American who lives there part of the year and is the top authority on the subject, as far as I am concerned.
Have a great time in our sister country of Uruguay.

Punta is a resort with all the activities that usually can be find in beach resorts, tennis, red clay courts, you can easily rent, golf a nice golf course, horse riding, fishing you can rent yatchts, or buy a ticket and go out in a larger boat, all kinds of water sports. Bikes can be rented. Many good restaurants, night clubs, movies, one art museum as far as know, shopping many int. brands and local handcrafts. As you mentioned beaches are good and they have different kinds, with waves or without them, people enjoy going to different beaches according with theprevailing winds. Good luck.
