Presidente Intercontinental- Cozumel
I am about as picky as they come! We are considering the Presidente Intercontinental in Cozumel. This sounds like the most luxurious on the island.Any first hand opinions would be great. Also there seem to be several varieties of rooms. Any thoughts??

Hi Sheri:
Noticed you have no responses. I would like to reply but don't want to until you tell us all if this is your first trip to mexico and if you have traveled outside the US and Canada. It is the "we are as pickey as they come that has us worried"

The Presidente is part of an old established chain of hotels in Mexican tourist areas. They have an excellant reputation. We have not stayed at the one in Cozumel but we know it is in a convieniant location. Our close friends have stayed there for 3 years now. They like the fact that their kids stay free and that the snorkeling is good right in front of the hotel. The beach is also nice. We would guess that the hotel was built in the 60s or 70s. We were in the lobby and while it is not as lavish as some of the newer places in cancun it still had a feeling of elegance.

Sheri,
We have stayed at the Presidente Cozumel many times and really like it. We like the Reef rooms as opposed to staying in the tower. These are ground floor rooms that open onto a terrace, then a few steps down to the beach and coral reef where you can snorkel. WE love the breakfast in the open air palapa - what a way to start the day!
