Passport Question
I have never been to Mexico, or any other country, this will be my first trip out of USA. Do I have to carry my passport everywhere I go while vacationing in Mexico, or can I leave it in the hotel safe?
Thank you for your help.

Either way is fine... You will most likely only need to show your passport at the airport and possibly if you want to cash travelers checks at a bank.
It's a good idea to have a xerox copy of the main page & keep it separate. In the event something happens to your passport, having the numbers can help expedite replacement.
If you are American/Canadian you can still legally enter Mexico on a drivers license and original birth certificate (but a passport's always the better idea, IMO).

I agree witth the above advice. The exception would be if you took a trip away from where you are staying that is long enough to encounter military roadblocks. Then you might need you passport and tourist card. In most tourist frequented areas this is not an issue. I would carry your driver's license or some form of ID however.
