Manuel Antonio-Anyone know anything about Las Palmas or Chaman condos?

Did a web search and couldn't find anything very specific. I'm still trying to find someplace to stay in or near Manuel Antonio during Christmas week. All the decent hotels are booked, but I've got an offer to rent either of these: Las Palmas unit 7 or a one-bedroom condo in the Chaman complex. Anyone stayed at either or a local who is familiar with either property? Does either have a website? All I could find were real estate listings, which didn't give me an idea of where exactly they were or what the view would be like.

Thanks!

Hi Tripme,
We actually own one of the units in Las Palmas (not unit 7 though). To get an idea of the property, you can check out our website. Although some is specific to our unit - you will get a good idea of the property.

The pool and grounds are really beautiful. Each of the 16 bungalows is individually owned so they vary in decor and amenities and even size. However the basic style is an A frame with bedroom loft upstairs and the kitchenette, sitting room and bathroom downstairs. Most units have a balcony and some sort of a porch. Some are glassed in with air conditioning and others just screened. I think unit 7 has air conditioning. Don't expect daily maid service unless you specifically arrange for it. The units are pretty simple, but I would say have everything you would need. However, everyone has different needs and expectations. We love our unit!!!
You won't get any ocean view - but you will feel like you are in the middle of the rainforest with all the lush vegetation. The squirrel monkeys sometimes pass by.
The location is about 2 km. from the town of Quepos and 5 km from Manuel Antonio Beach - about 100 metres off the main road - so you don't get the traffic noises.
Sorry I am not familiar with the Chaman complex.

Raquel:

Thanks so much for your reply. I saw your web site when I was looking for info, but I wasn't sure if it was the same place. Also good to know about the view and more about the location. Great pictures on your site!

Still can't believe I posted the unit number. D'oh! Really really really hope that doesn't cause problems for the owner somewhere down the line!

hi Tripme,
Thanks.
I don't think posting the unit number would cause a problem. I have seen lots of posts referring to specific rooms or sections in various hotels and complexes. What Fodors and other forums do not allow is people "touting" their own properties or pretending to be a happy client when they are indeed the owner.
I specifically identified myself as a unit owner for full disclosure. And if you look at the FAQ on our page , you will see that we tell it like it is and let people know what they are getting into. Some people want alot more luxury when they are on vacation.

Enjoy your trip to Costa Rica.

Hey, Raquel.

My main concern with posting the unit number was that someone might target the unit for theft, knowing it was a rental. Guess that's just the way my brain works!

Your site was extremely helpful to us in making our decision.

Thanks again,
