Looking for a beach town in CR.

My husband and I are taking our second trip to Costa Rica at the end of February for 7 days. We are looking for a relaxing beach town spot (already done Arenal, Monteverde, and Manuel Antonio). Montezuma is appealing. We arrive at the San Jose airport about 7:00 a.m. Is air the best way to get from San Jose to Montezuma? It seems taking the bus/ferry is time consuming. Any other beach town we should consider?

Montezuma's great. Small town, funky vibe. Beautiful beaches, watefalls, Cabo Blanco park. Lot's of other beaches you could consider. Depends upon what your looking for.

Playa Zancudo's really remote and fun, and serves as a gateway to some fun adventures in the Golfo Dulce.

The Caribbean coast (Cahuita and Puerto Viejo) might also work for you.

Flying's definitely quicker for getting to Montezuma (or Zancudo)

I dig Montezuma, might get a bit boring though if you spend all your time there, very small. Make sure to hit the Mal Pais, about 40 minutes from Montezuma and a good way to spend a day.

You can fly into Tambor and then taxi on down to Montezuma, that would be the quickest. Check out Nature Air for that - http://www.natureair.com/
Cheers

Thanks a lot for your inputs. So we will fly from San Jose to Tambor, rent a car and drive to Montezuma. Any suggestion for a not too expensive place to stay? Thanks again.

I lLOVE Ylang Ylang! It can be expensive, but
there are a number of cheaper alternatives in terms
of accommodation.

If you want to enjoy a fancy/special dinner in Montezuma I recommend Los Artistas. Wonderful ambience and beautiful grounds.
