In general, most everybody is following U.S. guidelines about liquids and gels these days. Some countries allow 3 ounces (100 ml). In other countries, you are not allowed any quantity aboard the aircraft with you. In some you cannot take liquids through security, but you purchase liquor at the stores near the airport gates beyond security. But "unlimited" quanities? No. I doubt that anybody allows that these days.

In El Calafate, we bought lunch and bottled water once we passed through security. They took our water as we boarded the plane even though I bought it at the cafe right in front of the gateway! I guess the answer would be... it depends.

hi, in general on domestic flights you are ok, but on international flights, the same applies as in the US, no liquids or creams etc in bottles over 100ml and these cannot exceed 1000ml in total. This applies to Brasil and where I flew in Bolivia, Peru etc.
