JW Marriott OR Marriott CasaMagna?

Is the JW worth the extra $$ over the CasaMagna? It will be one adult (father) and 2 children (18/14) traveling. Does one have a better beach than the other? Any and all info that can be provided would greatly be appreciated!
Thanks!
Craig

I'm guessing Cancun, because the 2 hotels are right next to each other.
The beach is the same -- just about perfect.
Everything's relative, but if money was no issue, I'd go for the JW for nicer rooms and views, and a much better, bigger pool. However, it may be that more families stay at the Casa Magna, making it more fun for kids...but I'm not sure about that...

Craig,
We were just at the Casa Magna and I don't know if this will help but maybe the comparisons might give a better picture. The Casa Magna was more of an open air/tile lobby w/couches and ceramics. The JW's lobby area is smaller and has carpet. The JW is newer. The Casa Magna room was a standard room w/ tile floor. I would guess the JW rooms are newer with carpet.
The beaches are the same- both hotels are connected by an internal bridgeway.
The pool areas- JW had more pools (4 or 5) but the Casa Magna (1 pool) was larger. Also we noticed the people swimming at Casa Magna and in the pool where as when we went over to the JW it seemed more of a laying out kind of pool.
The JW is definetly nicer and newer but the beach, location, etc. is the same. I also believe you have access to JW if you stay at the Casa Magna.
Depending on how much time you spend at either hotel, we read to bring a fold up/ collapsible cooler (label: California Innovations). We brought it on our trip and we used it to have cold drinks at the beach- it was great!
I don't know if you plan to stay in Cancun the whole time but we went to Playa Norte in Isla Mujeres which was fun. We also when to see Chichen Itza but it was a day long event.
I hope you have a great time!!

Craig,
I think you might have been wondering about the transfer from the airport. I included detailed info. on the original post but basically, the Casa Magna (& probably the JW too) can arrange for transport (they offered it to us) for $12 (per person (?)) (I would email them with the number in your party) or you could take the minivan/bus from the airport for $9 per person.
Hope this helps!
