I will be traveling the Northwest continental coast of Mexico from Puerto Penasco down to Guayamas.
I've found no travel guides or maps to the many small beach towns, hotels or restaurants along the way can some one point me in the write direction? Thanx for any help>

I have my Lonely Planet Mexico in front of me and it has a chapter called "Copper Canyon & Northern Mexico" which has a pretty good map and a section for "Northwest Mexico". Information for Puerto Penasco, Hermosillo, Bahia de Kino & San Carlos but I don't find Guaymas. But it may be useful to you. Find it in a library and copy the pages as it's a small section in a big book.

As good as Lonely Planet can be, it pales in comparison to Mexico Desconocido for off the tourist trail places of interest in Mexico. I usually drill down on Google maps on a certain route, then search MD for towns on that route for ideas. Hotels along such routes are mom and pop places off of the search engines, as are restaurants. That's just the nature of the beast for a trip like you're planning. Sometimes a hotel may pop up on google maps.
Speaking of maps, technology being what it is these days, you'll likely not need paper, but if you do Guia Roji is good.
MD's site is only in Spanish, but I suppose if you don't read Spanish, you can machine translate.

I knew there had to be something better but that's what I had in front of me. I used to live on the border in AZ and a number of people I knew had homes in Sonora, especially Guaymas & Alamos. When I went down I used public transport so didn't need to know all that much in the way of logistics, except when I was walking.
