How to dress for Guadalajara Spanish School?

So, I'm headed to Guadalajara New Year's Day for five days of language school. Will be staying with a family and most likely walking to/from school (IMAC--anyone been there?). The weather will be 80s during the day, down to 40s at night. I'm thinking khakis/business casual? I've been to Guad several times--but never at this time of year, and never on "business". I'm a "Land's End--61 female". Gracias!

I think business casual/khakis sounds like a good idea. I've been in Guadalajara in the winter and have never needed more than a light jacket over a turtle-neck or sweater. Most students in GDL I know dress less formally for school than they do for work. Khakis with any sort of shirt (not necessarily a button-down) should be more than enough (honestly, jeans would probably be okay, but you might want to see what the other students are wearing first).

Just guessing here but I think your normal "lands end" style would be OK. I think "business casual" might be overly dressed especially for a home stay and when it's 80 degrees out.
