help with hotel

I just made a reservation at the Park Tower in Buenos Aires. I know nothing about the hotel except that with all my points it is free. But is it in a decent location - easily accessible by taxi and above all safe? We're traveling with our one daughter who is 15 and she also requested a hotel with a pool - which it has. Any comments on the hotel etc would be appreciated. Thanks so much for any help

The price is certainly right, and the location is good. The Park Tower is an upscale Sheraton....not my favorite of the five star hotels in BsAs, but with points to exchange I would certainly stay there....The location is in Retiro, on the edge of the downtown area. Taxis are plentiful...be sure and use radio cabs....enjoy Buenos Aires

Top level hotel, but not the best location. However, it is only a few minutes' cab ride away from the top tourist attractions. The outdoor pool is an important advantage during this season.

Have radio taxis CALLED, instead of hailing them off the street.

Look at previous threads here or on tripadvisor.com for ideas on what to do and where to go when you are here.

What would be the best location in BA to stay for one night coming off a cruise. We would have just the day of disembarkation and until late evening the next night. Want to see as much as possible.

I believe that what avrooster and drdawggy wisely recommend is NOT to take the taxis standing near the Sheraton and try to call a reputable radio taxi. I personally have had very bad experiences with taxis in line in front of the Sheraton in New York(7 th Ave) while I was staying in ths hotel and I guess this is a valid lesson for Buenos Aires also. Always avoid the taxis that are waiting in line.
In Buenos Aires there are many good radio taxis companies, a few good ones are Premium Taxis and Pidalo Taxis among any more.

Hi emeckeeve

The Recoleta Area or near the Patio Bullrich would be
a very good area to stay.
There are many good hotel possibilities, what I do is call a travel agent and have them make the reservation because they get better rates. I personally use WOW Argentina, Cintia or Matias.
