Help - Is Buzios Worth the Trip?

Jump to last reply

We are thinking about a family trip to Rio and Buzios in February. Two adults and two kids, 10 and 9. We've been to Rio before and loved it. I was able to get a great airfare to Rio so, we thought Buzios. We would be going the week right before Carnival, leaving Rio on Carnival weekend. Rio a few days then Buzios. Now I may be having second thoughts.

Is Buzios some place that people really travel to or, is it mostly "if you are in the area you should stop by kind of place?" How are the main beaches? Clear and warm water or a bit murky and cold? We like a little sightseeing and relaxing by the beach and pool during the day. (The kids definitely need a pool.) I see Buzios has a great night life but, the discos are of less interest, we have kids along. Are there good restaurants?

And, can anyone recommend more highly one of the following hotels: La Boheme or Galapagos Inn (both on the beach) or Casas Brancas, in town.
Thank you.
