Guatemala, volcano activity - three departments under yellow alert
Three Guatemalan departments are under yellow alert, as a preventive measure in the face of the sustained activity of Fuego Volcano. Sacatepequez, Chimaltenango, and Escuintla .

Hi, Lynnie -
It's not likely, but it's located close enough to Antigua and Guatemala City that the airport and ground transportation could be affected if there's a major eruption. Pacaya erupted last May/June and the airport was closed for awhile due to the ash. Of course, the Iceland volcano stopped air traffic in Europe, so you never know!! When do you go?
