Guanjuato ...where to stay
#2
Three years ago we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Luna http://www.hotelluna.com.mx/english/index.html.
It's right on the Jardin Union, nice and central, but pretty noisy on the square (the din quiets later in the evening). There is a popular bar and convenient restaurant. Note this is not a deluxe establishment, but rather a traditional hotel in a very good location and a helpful staff.

We recently returned from Guanajuato and, although we didn't stay at the Hotel Luna, we often would sit at their outdoor cafe for drinks and sometimes snacks or lunch. The staff is very friendly, the location great and the public areas are pretty (we didn't see the rooms). I would definitely think of staying there if we ever get back.

try http://www.casaspirit.com/ It is a little out of town but absolutely wonderful!!! I agree about sitting in the Jardin, but then Casa Espiritus is a nice retreat to return to.

When we booked the Alma del Sol there wasn't room for us for the first night so we were going to be in La Casa de Espiritus. I was looking forward to it but at the last minute there was room at Alma... I was a bit disappointed not to experience La Casa de Espiritus.
rickyloo, where did you end up staying? I hope you had a great time in Guanajuato.
