galapagos and seasickness- which boat?

A friednd is planning to go the the Galapagos and is deciding on which boat. She gets seasick. She would prefer a small boat, but is afraid that she would eb more apt to get seasick on a small boat than a big boat? Does anyone have a clue about this?
Thanks.

Your friend is correct -- she is more apt to get seasick on a small boat than a big boat.

You're welcome.

We just finished a 7 day cruise on the Eclipse which has 48 passengers - I was worried it was too big but with 4 guides and 4 pangas it approximated a small boat experience - but is large enough to minimize motion sickness......

We did a 7 night cruise on Celebrity's "X-pedition"; a 98 passenger vessel.....very smooth & comfortable cruising.

Your friend is right that small boats are apt to produce more sea sickness. But to combat that, there are over the counter medications she could try out before leaving home to see how she reacts.

I get queasy very easily--can't go to Imax, no kiddie rides at carnivals. I've done small boat trips of 16 guests on the Galapagos and much smaller boats in even rougher seas with the help of Bonine.

Small boats offer a personal and intimate trip, so may be worth pursuing with Bonine or similar.
