Ferry to BA

Does anyone know if I need to purchase ferry/hydrofoil tickets for Colonia-BA in advance?

Or can I just show up at the ferry.

And if I purchase advance tickets, and I want to change the time, is it difficult?

Other than on holidays when lots of people are traveling, you don't generally need to purchase a ticket in advance. I usually either pick up the ticket a day ahead of time, or just show up an hour or hour and a half before the ferry time and buy it then. These are pretty big ferries and they're rarely completely full. My guess, given experiences I've had with other transit companies here, is that if you advance purchase, you don't really have the option to change the ticket - or, it'll be a process that won't be worth the trouble.

With that answer in mind, does anyone know if the Monday after Easter (March 24th to be specific) is a holiday? That is when we plan to go to Colonia and one of the women traveling with us thought she saw somewhere that it was a national holiday of some sort.

I tried to do a day trip from BA to Colonia in November and all ferries were sold out for that day (a Fri). Suggest calling Buquebus for ticketing info.

Sounds like a good idea. We arrive on Friday and have some flexible time that day so I may try to get it lined up right when we get there. Thanks.
