Entry fee to Bolivia?

Does anyone know the latest info about the new entry fee into Bolivia? Last I heard itīs $100 starting Dec 1, but is that only if you arrive by air (like in Chile) or is it also applicable for overland arrival?
Thanks!

Isn't it a visa after Dec. 1 that you must apply for in advance, no matter how you arrive? In that regard, it's like Brazil and Paraguay where you must get the visa in advance, and more complicated than Chile's system where you simply arrive and pay your money.

$100 for US passport holders .... not sure about Canadians. I'm Irish .... no fee

But everyone needs a yellow fever vaccination certificate

US also has some other requirements as part of their visa application .... check the Bolivian embassy website for all the details.

Everything applies no matter how you enter the country .. air or land.

The visa requirement does not apply to Canadians and most other nationalities. On their web page they said they are applying it to US citizens as a matter of "reciprocity ." In other words they are getting even with us for requiring visas of their citizens.

In a way I don't blame them, I know the US doesn't make it easy for Bolivians to get into our country. But I think they are shooting themselves in the foot by discouraging Americans from visiting.
