el mirador lodge, drake bay
My husband and I are planning on staying at Cabinas El Mirador Lodge in Drake Bay in May. Has anyone stayed there?? It seems like the best option for our budget trip to the Osa.
Also, has anyone flown into Drake Bay on Travelair? I have heard mixed reviews about the reliability of this company.

I recently returned from Drake Bay (in Aug). Although I didnt stay there, I passed by Mirador initially to see what it was like and was not impressed. It is the cheapest in the area for a reason I think. Rooms were not very nice at all. I ended up staying at a place called Jinetes de Osa. A little more expensive but well worth it. Very nice and clean rooms with hot water, beautiful views, and tasty meals. Although the place specializes in diving( and the diving in the area is excellent), my wife, who is not a diver had a great time with all the other tours offered. We are planning another trip to Costa Rica next year and will spend more time in Drake with the guys at Jintes. By the way, we flew in to Drake on Sansa and ended up arriving almost 3 hours late!! I think we will try the other airline next time!
