Ecuador/Galapagos Tour - HELP
I am in the begining stages of planning a trip to Quito and Galapagos for next year. I would like to spend 2-3 days in Quito taking day tours from the hotel. I would then like to spend approx. 4-5 days at the Galapagos Islands. I am overwhelmed by the quantity of information available on the internet and am hoping someone can recommend a good tour company. I will probably be traveling alone, don't dive but want to snorkel, prefer a smaller group (not a ship), and also - what day tours would you suggest if I only have two days to see Quito. Thanks!

Martin has a tour company in Quito.
He booked my complete tour with 5 days in Quito and a week at the Galapagos.
He booked me private tour guides that met me at the airport in Quito and took me to my hotel ( which Martin booked).
The following days the guides took me to Otavalo Mrket place .
Bellavista Cloud Forest
Mita del Munda ( Equator line)
Tour of Old Quito City
Cotopaxi
and many other country site places.
Then when it was time to go to the Galapagos, the guide picked me up at the hotel and took me to the airport and STAYED with me until I cleared customs and was on my way.!!
This guide in Quito ( Carlos Avila) told me who was going to meet me at the airport when I arrived at the Galapagos.( a fellow named Mario!)
Sure enough!!
As I got off the plane at the Galapagos , it was 87 F and humid.... I walked into the open air airport and this fellow came up to me and said:
" Hi ,I'm Mario, you will be coming with me."
I was wearing a blue badge on my shirt with the name of the Yacht I was going on...so Mario saw the blue badge that is how he knew who I was.
Smooth as silk.!!
Give Martin and e-mail and mention my name. He know me well as we stay in touch
Have a good time,it will be a trip of a lifetime.

In quito you can hire a driver, thru the hotel and he can drive you around the town and show you all the things you need to see...we wnet to a cool museum and to the equator monument, saw downtown, did some shopping all in one day. Well worth it. They have 3, 4 and 7 day boat cruises in the islands, but we stayed on Puerta Ayora and just id some day trips islands and saw more local stuff on the island we stayed on...lots to see there for 3 or 4 days. Thanks for the info. Thats what I am going to do. I want to see the Equator monument, the old colonial area, teleferio, and a market. My teenage son is comming with me and he's not into a whole day at the market. I appreciate your input. Thanks..
