Dos Cabos with a teenager

We are considering taking about a week in Cabo San Lucas/Cabo San Jose this summer. The last time we were there was about 22 years ago, and I know a lot has changed. We would like to have easy access to a beach where we can swim, which we did not have last time in Cabo San Jose because the surf was too rough. We would also like to have a hotel that attracts families with teens, so that ours can hang out with other teens at the pool. Does anyone one have any recommendations for a hotels that meet one, or both, of these criteria? Thanks.

I would love to be able to hear the sound of the surf at night.

The only swimmable beach is Medano. Look at Pueblo Bonito Rose or Blanco, or the Villa del Palmar properties. They are on Medano and also offer water sports besides being walking distance to Cabo San Lucas.

We ended up at Fiesta Americana, thanks to a generous friend with a time share there. That gave me the sound of the waves crashing at night and a small, rocky beach where you could go in the water but it wasn't terribly swimmable. The pools were lovely though.

My husband and I took a lovely day trip up to Todos Santos, a small town north of Cabo San Lucas on the Pacific side. My daughter and I did a snorkeling tour, which was fun, but the water was a little murky so the snorkeling wasn't great. We wandered around Cabo San Jose, and found a lovely French bakery there close to the main plaza. We had a good casual dinner at Las Guacamayas in Cabo San Jose (tacos) and a nice upscale dinner at Lorenzillos (cost between $30 and $40 a person).
