Costa Rican tour - Family of four / Travel agent recommendations
Our family is considering our first trip to CR and would like to see and do as many of the highlightsas possible w/o spending full days in a car. All four are active adults (2 -20+ daughters) who enjoy hiking, nature etc. Is there an exceptional travel agent/agency we should consult?

You can do this on your own by asking questions here. But if you'd prefer a good travel agent for Costa Rica, then talk to Pat Hewitt at lovecostarica.com. He's out of New Orleans, but has a house in CR and is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
He helped us with our first trip to CR, as well as many others who post here. He also posts here occasionally.

I definitely think you should put Arenal on your list; it has the active volcano, waterfall you can hike to, Hanging Bridges, white water rafting, great natural hot springs, and the Cano Negro tour to see wildlife. You could pair it with an easy beach destination like Manuel Antonio or go somewhere a little more undeveloped like the Osa Peninsula. You really can plan everything yourself, but if you need help, definitely contact Pat as glover said.

you don't need a travel agent -- they charge you fees etc. My advice is:
1. First consult with a travel agent for them to give you an itinerary and pricing. Then use what they give you to do research on your own to see how much you can/can't save booking on your own
2. Use these boards to determine locations to visit, places to stay. Also reference tripadvisor
3. Watch my video about CR, I just went this summer: http://hollywoodwannab.blogspot.com/...osta-rica.html
PURA VITA...it will be amazing
