Costa Rica Shuttle...HELP

I am freaking out about having just made a reservation with THEcostaricashuttle and having given them my cc number. I have just read on Tripadvisor about the possibility of this company being a fake website, playing off of costaricashuttle. I am wondering if anyone has used the company (with the prefix THE ) or am I out $200.

r, I read the same thing you did on tripadvisor, but I don't have any personal experience with them. If you do have a problem, I think your credit card company would reimburse you.

You need not reserve anything for a Costa Rica trip. Unlike what you see and read , tourism is pretty much dead..........for the very reason you posted.
Make sure and call the CC company and let them know you're coming here, otherwise you might not be able to use the card ( same reason as your original post).

Tripadvertizer has a lot of "experts" that diss the shuttles
because the are competitive. The main "expert" is a driver who
directly competes with them and trolls off clueless newbies
on the boards dissing competitors making false posts and referring to his wife. Although a DE X 4 there in the past left years ago they have become so commercial and deceptive I trust NOTHING that goes on there.Basically a for profit commercial owner/agent controlled promoted site to gin up rating and rankings.

I might contact company directly if unable to cancel/dispute with your credit card. Use one of the other many good suttles Graylinecostarica.com is a good one.

But relax you will get your money back from your CC as long as you did not wire them money.

Best of luck and caveat emptor on TA.

I read that thread about thecostaricashuttle vs. costaricashuttle, on Tripadvisor too. I would call the credit card company and let them know you think it may be a scam and ask about cancelling.

Thanks. I would hate to cancel a reservation from a reputable company without absolute proof that they are fraudulent. However, I don't want to be left stranded waiting for a shuttle that won't come. Is there any way to find out the truth? (My cc will cover any fraud)
