costa rica marriotts
I am going to return to Costa Rica next Feb.I intend to visit the Marriott in Guanacaste, then visit the Marriott in Los Suenos. We will have a car, so we can make stops along the way. Any suggestions for places to stop or visit along the way ? Anyone visited the Guanacaste Marriott ? Thanks .

JW Guanacaste is great but remote good u have a car
food drinks pricey not much else around
try to get upgrades suites to club floor
they comp u on food drinks
SJ Marriott nice more stnadard close to SJO
Spirit.com cheap flights in first class less
than coach usually for me... Los Suenos below
Jaco also older but nice beach not too great
but you can visit manuelantoniopark.com as a
day trip from there I would do that
arenal.net monteverdeinfo.com ruralcostarica.com
Rio Celeste nice to visit on your way to from the JW
mapache.com servicecarrental.com nice for rental for me
www.mapcr.com GPS good idea if map challenged
Happy Planning!

Qwovadis-Thanks for your reply.I would like to make a day trip from Marriott Guantacaste to Monteverde. It looks like a difficult across the mountains trip. Any suggestions on how to best get there or how long it will take ? Suggestions on activities or places to eat in the Monteverde ? Service Car Rental looks good. Is it reputable ? We used Tricolor last trip, and it was excellent. Thanks again.

I would never do a daytrip to MV from anywhere. Once you leave the Interamerican Highway, it's a two hour drive on a bumpy, gravel road with many holes and slow going.
That said, MV is a beautiful cloudforest area and deserves at least two nights to hike in the reserves, hanging bridges or zipline at Selvatura, night hikes, etc.
I'm not sure exactly where you are staying in Guanacaste (near what town?), but it was a four hour drive from Liberia. Distances on a map can be deceiving due to the quality of the roads.
