Costa Rica - Tamarindo - Monteverde Monteverde - Montezuma
Message: Hi we are planning on renting a vehicle in Tamarindo, driving to monteverde for a couple of days then continuing to Montezuma and Mal Pais. How much time should we expect from Tamarindo to monteverde, and from Monteverde - Montezuma. Has anyone rented a vehicle in one place and dropped it off in another as well. Thanks for any info

We haven't used either of those, but I am sure they are quite reliable. Our experience has been with Dollar and Tricolor--we were very pleased with both. We have used Tricolor the last 4-5 times because they are consistently lower in price than the other agencies. Everything included in the quoted price. No problems with pick up or drop off. Everyone very cordial, and we like their location.
You'll enjoy driving, I think.

We'll be doing the Monteverde/Tamarindo drive, and I'm curious about the 3.5 hour drive time. We would like to go via the Friendship Bridge vs. via Liberia, as we will be going on to Liberia after Tamarindo. However, if this would add on an absurd number of hours, we'll do the Liberia route.
Also, what the best way down to the PanAm Hwy from Monteverde? I see two possible roads, one via Las Juntas de Abangares and another via Guacimal/Yomale.
Leaving on Saturday!!! Many thanks for all the info offered here!
