Copy of Passport
I think this was answered several weeks ago, but when carrying a copy of my Passport in Costa Rica, a simple photocory will do, correct? Or does it have to be a certified copy?
Leaving on Tuesday, so your help is appreciated.

I think there is a recent post on this board saying that a regular photocopy is sufficient. Keep the original in the hotel safe and have a couple of copies made and keep them in a couple of different places. If your original is lost or stolen, the copy will allow you to get a replacement much faster and with less hassle.

There are two pages you need to photocopy: the page with your passport photo and all your data; and the page with the most recent Costa Rican entry stamp you get at immigration. You can't make that copy until after you arrive in Costa Rica. If you're stopped by police on the street or at a police checkpoint on the highway -- and there are various ones around -- they'll want to know how long you've been in the country.
