Hi all, my husband and I are going to stay at the Cancun Palace for our 1 yr anniversary, which also happens to be Cinco de Mayo! Anyone here ever been down there at that time? just wondered how crazy it was! Looking forward to partying though! ;-) Thanks in advance.

Been to different parts of Mexico over Cinco de Mayo.<BR>There is partying in Cancun 24/7, and it is so commercialized and geared to tourists, I doubt that you will see much of a difference on May 5 unless you go to the downtown area, where they'll probably have live music and some parades.<BR>Why don't you do a google.com search on Cancun Cinco de Mayo?<BR>There might be some info on any festivities to be found in the area.

That part of Mexico never even heard of Cinci de Mayo until the gringos came along. And if there are any festivites it will be for the gringos not the natives. You would see more action in large cities in thes states that day. But I imagine some partying will be happening somewhere in Cancun like Senor Frogs

I agree with Nancy and Monica. Cinco de Mayo is more of a big deal in the US (I think because all the beer companies and bars have glommed onto it.) That said, Cancun has a rep for crazy partying pretty much year round. If that is what you're looking for, you'll find it.

Thats what we are looking for! and I know cancun is the place. I didnt know cinco de mayo was so commercialized. I just assumed there were more festive goings-on. Oh well, thanks.
