butterfly farm

Is it worth a trip to the butterfly farm outside of San Jose? Are there any others that are better?

I did not visit the butterfly farm near San Jose, but did go to the one in Monteverde. It was great!!! They first give you a quick introduction to the butterflies of Costa Rica and then a guided tour of their facility. Also, the frog pond in Monteverde is worth a visit.

Visited a small one on the way back from Sarchi to Puntaranas...As it turns out we have a facility 30 minutes from our home which is delightful.

Butterfly farms abound in Costa Rica, so don't hang around San Jose just to do this one. But if you'll be there anyway . . .<BR>As other poster said butterfly farm in Monteverde was great. Also one in the La Paz waterfall/Poas Volcano area outside SJ, so you could do that one if you're going by there. There was also a pretty nice one right in back of Arenal Lodge in Arenal on their property
