Belize/Guate: Zip lining?

In Belize, there's one at Jaguar Paw lodge off Mile 37 of the Western Highway and another newer one off the coastal road. The one at Blue Creek in Toledo was destroyed by Iris in 2002 and hasn't reopened.
There is at least one near Tikal in Guatemala, but I haven't visited it.

Jaguar Paw is in every travel book to Belize I've ever read (or written, for that matter.) It's at page 55 of Fodor's Belize & Guatemala 2005, which I co-authored.
It's fairly close to Belmopan City. As I say you turn at Mile 37 of the Western Highway and then go a few miles on a dirt road. I guess the closest village is Frank's Eddy.
It opened about 10 years ago. It's one of the two jungle lodges in Belize with A/C. It's a big cruise ship day trip destination for cave tubing as well as zip lining.

I did the zip line and cave tubing this summer.
The aip line or aerial trek consists of a series of platforms (I think four) with a rappell down from the last stop. I was initially scared, but got over it in a hurry and once i relaxed, I really enjoyed it.

Hi!
Would you recommend the cave tubing/zip lining tour? It sounds like there are only 4 times you zip line during the tour...? Do you remember who you booked with and how much the tour cost?

Hi amz,
I booked the tour directly with Jaguar Paw for my group of 10. We all enjoyed the day, began about 9:30 on the Zip Line/Aerial Trek and that took most of the morning. As I mentioneed there are either four or five platforms and at the moment i can't remember the length of the longest or the highest. It was a great experience. We returned to Jaguar Paw and had a Belizean style lunch which was included in the package and then after lunch, we did the Cave tubing.
It made for a really nice day trip but others may prefer the more intensive Cave tubing trip through Caves Branch.
Trip cost (I can't find the paperwork on this) was somewhere around $100 for the day.

One more question....was there a point in the tubing trip where the caves gave way to an idyllic type pond where swimming/cliff diving was available? I've heard stories of scenes like this but am not sure if the tour runs from Jaguar paw or elsewhere.

My friend and I went zip lining in Guatemala in Sept. Our tour guide who drove us from San Ignacio to Tikal mentioned that there was a place right off the highway on the way. So on the way back from Tikal, we stopped there. It was a lot of fun. The zip line operators who took us up didn't really speak English, but we never felt unsafe and they took good care of us. They even took pictures of us while we were zipping. It was a newer zipline operator and it was much cheaper than in Belize. We zipped about 6 times from different platforms for about a half-hour, I think. It only cost $30 US per person.

Amz, sorry for the delay in a reply. I overlooked you addtional question. The tubing trip that we took began with a jump off a small cliff onto our tube so yes, there is a idyllic pool at the beginning of the tubing trip we did.
