arranging day trips ahead of time?

We will be in Arenal Feb. 10- 13. Not sure of the exact activities we will do. Is there an advanage to booking ahead ( besides knowing a trip will not filled already)? Is it more economical to go through your hotel or a tour group? thanks for any info you can give us.

Check with your hotel as they can sometimes get you a discount. We stayed at Lost Iguana and got discounts to Eco Thermales & Hanging Bridges

We prefer to check in and then make our plans through the front desk at the hotel.

For Eco-Thermales I'd book ahead...just in case. They have a limited number of entries so if you're sent on an evening with dinner it doesn't hurt to prebook.

We usually book through our hotels - got half price at the Hanging Bridges like SiteCer mentioned. Agree about booking Eco Termales ahead; they limit entry to 100 people and do sell out. We met folks that had to go to Baldi instead and didn't like it.

My thought is the hotels probably buy up some spots to offer to their customers, but no way to be sure.
