Antigua home rentals
i will be traveling to
Guatemala in August and i'm currently looking for house rentals for a week in Antigua. I'm doing some research but what i'm mostly getting are hotels. do any of you have any house rental suggestions that can accommodate up to 13 people/kids?

My friend rented a house through vrbo and had a great experience. The one she stayed in was small so it wouldn't work for you. Lots to choose from on VRBO and some even come with a housekeeper and a cook.
Could you possibly rent out a whole posada? I did run across a couple that would rent out the whole place. I will try to find the name of them.

Rents are high in August, high season in Antigua, full with travelers and visitors worldwide, low seasons are mid September to mid November and late April after Easter Week through early June, contact locals who live in Antigua directly, most all speak English, join http://www.couchsurfing.org/ then join the Guatemala and Antigua groups on CS, ask one of the Antigua members if they know of a Posada, rents are generally $1500US or so in high season, NEVER send a deposit to rent or purchase anything in Central America online by credit nor debit card, as well bring as much cash with you as possible as many ATMs in guatemala are cloning cards, locals suffer more than travelers. As well view the Antigua section of Guatemala Revue Magazine on line, monthly, www.revuemag.com/ lots of adverts, answer any Realtors adverts at your own risk!!!!! Antigua is an international travel destination and very expensive in relation to the rest of Guatemala, with exception upscale areas of Guatemala city
