Akumal condo recommendations
Hi
My husband, 19 year old daughter, and myself are going to fly in and out of Cancun for a weeks vacation in March. Based on the posts Ive read, we will probably go to Chichen Itza for a night or two, go around to Coba and end up at Akumal. We like quiet (no night life necessary) and snorkeling. Any suggestions on which of the many condos to stay in? We hate crowds...
I went on my honeymoon in 1982 at Akumal it sure looks changed. But it still doesn't seem to be Cancun.
Thanks

I was last in Akumal 4 years ago. The last 2 times we were there, we stayed at Luna Azul Condos. I highly recommend them. Here is a link to a good guy, Bill-in-Tulsa, who rents them out. Please tell him Bobbi in MI said "Hi".

thanks so much treelover. I didn't get into Luna Azul but Bill was helpful. I had tried to make a researvation through locogringo as recommended on this website. But the only thing they have available was $250 a night condos. Bill had one that was $195. One thing I discovered is different travel agents handle different condos.

just want to let people know that you should check different agencies to book condos in Akumal. I started with locogringo asking for a condo for about $200 a night. Their reply was there was none but suggested some that were $250. Thanks to this site I moved on to bill in Tulsa and he had one for $195. Another agency I found on line had some for $185. I'm not sure if loco gringo was just trying to get more money out of me or if they carry slightly different condos.

Chiming into say that Bill-in Tulsa helped me as well, After a disastrous experience with Elio Rodriguez at Lol Ka'naab Condos . Who canceled our reservation though he had 75% payment in hand for months. Still trying to get our money back. The rates at Bill-in Tulsa were less than what we found though other agencies.
