I keep seeting the term "zip lines". What is that and what do I need to know about them before my trip?

Roland - Since you've mostly posted on the Europe board here, you wouldn't have seen the term zipline before, but are you aware that there is a search function on Fodors that will uncover many more threads on this subject? I'm only writing this because it took me two days to learn that it was available.
