Zihuatanejo hotel help needed.

I am getting very frustrated and am in need of some advice for getting a hotel in Zihuatanejo for a stay (Oct 29-Nov 3). I know La Casa Que Canta and Villa del Sol are the best places but I can not find a hotel that looks decent that does not cost and arm and a leg. Please advise.

I wonder about renting a house or 'casita'. That's what we did (several years ago) and it was wonderful. There are a lot of sites - vrbo is one, but you could do a search and I'm sure you'd find a lot.

Not sure what you mean by "decent" but I know of dozens that would qualify as Decent. Have you checked out Brisas del Mar on Madera? It is a wonderful property. Or The Sun & Moon, Irma or Villa Mexicana? If you go to www.zihuatanejo.net you will find great listings & a message board that has lots of reviews in it's archives. Check it out!

Brisas del Mar on Madera...really? I have seen some of the pictures and the rooms seem...well, ugly. All the reviews have been positive but an adobe sofa...I dont know about that.

I have checked out that BB you mentioned but I will look into the archives. That my help.

Any other suggustions?

We stayed for 5 days at the Villa Del Mar. We loved it for the first 5 minutes, but as we are people who relish our privacy, the "friendliness" of the on-site manager wore thin very quickly. Otherwise, it's quite lovely, though no A/C (didn't bother us, but I know it's important to a lot of people). If I could be assured of a new manager who knows how to leave guests alone, I'd stay there again...otherwise, not.
