Thanks so much for the suggestions. I think I went to Uxmal and was impressed, though in one part of it, there were some steep steps that I was unable to navigate. Sitting while others explore is always a good option for me.

I say "I think" because I was on a tour from Mérida and I'm now a little hazy about our destination.

There are some places in Uxmal with very steep steps, and it is a "typical" day trip destination from Merida, so it's a good bet that you were there.

While it is probably a little further than where you want to go, Palenque is quite friendly for walking. It even has a wheel chair entrance. Mostly flat, level land around the main tower site, and the tower platform level does not require a lot of steps (compared to most).
