I have always said ,that those that intent to travel worldwide and have many years of travel left... why not get the yellow fever vaccine and get it over with.!
It is good for 10 years.

I saw this on Tripadvisor as well. I guess this means we'll be heading to the travel medical clinic again for the shot. It also sounds like we'll need to have our immunization records with us when we go.
Really looking forward to our trip in February - can't wait!

If your arriving from US or Canada you supposedly do not need the shot. It's if you are arriving from a country where there is a yellow fever threat. It's a protective measure by the Panamanian Gov't.

The article said that if you were coming from the USA or Canada you did not need the immunization; however, it also said that if you were going to visit other countries such as Colombia or Costa Rica you would need the shot to enter Panama.
Of course, Percy's advise is good counsel.

You know I got my Yellow Fever vaccine last year because I was going to be spending time in Brazil.
From Rio I was going to fly to the Amazon and spend almost a week there.
There were statement that if you did not have the Yellow Fever vaccine , the customs in Rio may not allow you to fly to the Amazon.
I thought to myself...Boy that is all I need !!!!
To be told in Rio de Janeiro that I am not able to fly to the Amazon....
so
I got the Yellow fever vaccine and the Typhoid also........ now I am done. !
Typhoid is good for 7 years
Yellow Fever for 10 years

Good advice, Percy. I renew my yellow fever immunization every 10 years, and typhoid every seven, no matter what my immediate travel plans are.
Typhoid is easy. It can be prescribed as a series of capsules taken at home over a few days, and it gives youi protection for seven years.

Where are you going?...again !!
Hi Jeff:
You are right you can take the typhoid in capsule forms at home and not receive any needle injection.
I am with you ...I also will renew mine.... when the Typoid and Yellow Fever expire.
