One of the most fun things I've ever done in PDC was floating down the river at Xel-Ha in a tube...But if you're not into water activities, don't bother...

I agree with Liz that the tube/river part of Xel Ha was fun.
That was the only thing about Xel Ha that we enjoyed.
(The following is just my opinion, so don't flame me :)
Tacky, overcrowded, commercial, expensive, horrible snorkeling, bad food, one of those dreadful "swim with the dolphin" programs.
If you don't have little kids (aged 8 - 10), I'd skip it.
I'd also recommend the same for Xcaret.

We had a wonderful time at Xel-Ha... the snorkeling was great, a beautiful estuary. The food was amazing. We did an all inclusive, so everything was included.

However... From what I've heard, Xcaret sounds like it might be a better choice, if you had to pick between the two. Xcaret includes an amazing show, etc.

Actually the tube float on the river at Xel-Ha was the most fun I have had in a long time, then came the snorkel lagoon at Xel-Ha! AMAZING. Also, the Underground river float at Xcaret is really cool too!
