Xandari by the Pacific?

Has anyone stayed at the new Xandari sister resort, "Xandari by the Pacific" near Jaco Beach? Thinking of booking a January '07 trip there. Thanks.

I understand they have a nice spa. . .we looked into staying there, but opted for a birding lodge nearby instead. I'm sure it would be a good choice, but do take seriously the beach warning from Rocio. There are a LOT of beaches in that area (all over CR, really) that are extremely dangerous due to currents.

Is Jaco really a terrible dangerous beach? For swimming? Or in general? Is it not advisable to stay there?

Does anyone have any recent feedback on this hotel? Is the beach unsafe because of currents but is a beautiful beach? Or is it not a nice beach? Thanks.

I am pretty sure having just returned from Jaco that they are speaking of the currents. We were there in March and did not venture to far into the ocean as it was really rough. My husband had almost drowned in Manual Antonio and he know what to do in a rip current so really take the warnings into consideration if it were not for 2 big strapping men our vacation almost ended in disaster!
