Why 3 to a room?

I have checked into the Fiesta American Grand Coral in Cancun and the JW Marriott and they only allow 3 people to a room. Does anyone know the reason behind this? And do they really check or can we get away with it.? (we just want 4 per room)

I don't know why they do that, but it is the reason we stayed at one of the palace resorts, as they let you have 4 to a room.

All about money? I'd take a wild guess that they want you to have to pay for 2 rooms. Two 2-person rooms obviously cost more than One 4-person room.

Please notice the sign at any port of entry to Mexico, it says.............
suspend ye logic, all whom enter here.

the place is beautiful but the laws? are as crazy as a box of hair. Go for it, just say the 4th person is a maid or valet, they are not counted as people or guests.

Yes they really check. No you probably won't "get away with it". The maid comes in and out of the room to clean up every day. Noticing the sheets and bath towels. Also the front desk staff may not appear to be "on the ball" but believe me they KNOW who is and is not staying at the hotel. I suggest you find a different hotel that allows 4 people to a room, or spring for two rooms. Why start out your vacation making trouble with the hotel? Is it really worth the hassle?
