Whitewater Rafting choices

My family and I will be in CR in February. We have heard that the Pacuare trips are excellent, but we have difficulty fitting it into our itinerary (because of the need to be near San Jose the night before and after). Another choice is the Rio Toros trips near Arenal (also Class III/IV),which fits our itinerary well, but have found very little about this trip. Any help?

I know I read about some company running a trip on this river. It must have been a reputable company because those are the only websites I go to. I will check over the weekend to find out who it was and get back with you in a day or two.

I am taking a rafting trip in Jan with Rios Tropicales to the Reventazon since I will be in San Jose. If I like it, I'll probably do Pacure later in the week.

Okay, never mind you don't have to wait that long. The company is Desafio Expeditions. I've read about them in a few guide books and they are supposed to be well-established and reputable. I am thinking about taking some other types of tours with them. Their website is www.desafiocostarica.com, click on LaFortuna Raft Center, then click on rafting.

Rios Tropicales can take you down the Sarapiqui from Fortuna as well as Costa Rica Expeditions.

Also, according to their website, Aguas Bravas is also running rafting trips on the Toro River, www.aguas-bravas.co.cr.
