When people say "Manuel Antonio," they really refer to the several miles of beaches between the town of Quepos and the park itself. I agree with volcanogirl. Quepos the town isn't so interesting as a place to stay.

Volcanogirl's description of Jaco as a place to go for a bachelor party is spot on. :) You can do so much better, and traveling with your nine-year-old you should avoid it.

Thank you. Great help.

Jeff, would it be feasible to do Arenal and the Oso peninsula in 10 days? First visit - they look quite a distance and I have no idea what the transportation options would be. Thanks!

Yes, that's feasible. When we went to the Osa Peninsula, we flew on Sansa airlines.

Was that a direct flight from Fortuna to Puerto Jimenez or do you have to route through San Jose? Thanks.

volcanogirl Nov 19th, 2024 08:14 AM

We did it through San Jose. When we went Sansa Airlines was directly next to the main airport. I don't believe you can go to the Osa from La Fortuna, but check their website to double check me.

Yep, nothing direct between them. Thank you.
