Which hotel on Carribean side for anniversary?

My husband and I live in Nosara. Our anniversary is in Sept., which is very rainy here, so I thought I might surprise him with a trip to the other side of Costa Rica (carribean) for our anniversary. Which hotel would you recommend...without dropping a fortune?

I liked Banana Azul a lot. It is about 2 km from Puerto Viejo and in a beautiful setting with good food.

You might try taking a look here - www.puertoviejosatellite.com - for more choices. There are some really great places to stay and you might even rent a house through something like VRBO which has been used very successfully by a number of people.

Oh.... forgot to add... I just read something about this place -- Oxygen Jungle Villas - which are supposed to be "upscale Caribbean."

Hum...Banana Azul looks good, especially the 'Howler Room'...
Oxygen Jungle Villas are amazning, but yes, as tully thought, they are on the Pacific where I expect more rain in Sept.

Le Chameleon is the lux lodging around there but I love Banana Azul snd would consider it ideal fir anniversary. Howler Room is really nice. We've also enjoyed the Apartment and it has a kitchen and great bathroom tub and shower. Red Frog room is nice too bit the former two are better.
