Which hotel in Puerto Vallarta?
 

thinking of traveling to PV in the winter. Which of either the Marriott or Westin would you suggest?

Stayed last winter at La Jolla de Mismyola and found many problems. 1st, the beach was washed away in a storm and the hotel staff were so confused on want was part of the AI package and what wasn't (we were AI). The Westin looked nice.

Casa Magna Marriott in The Marina is a beautiful property. I only stayed there one night because of an airline delay. It is a BIG place, real nice pool area, narrow beach behind. Everything very tidy and seemingly well-run. I found the restaurants expensive compared to ones in town. Personally, it's not particularly my style, as I like and stay in the Old Town neighborhood of PV in smaller local hotels.

Marriott Casa Magna is a great hotel. We'll probably go back in November.

We stayed at the Westin and loved it. The quality of the hotel & amenities were high. The draws are that it is in a marina area so there is no "beach" area. Also, the staff pitches a timeshare program.
