Which AI has the best food??
Planning a family vaca in Nov (no kids) and
am not crazy about AI's like Sandals, etc.
Considering Adventura, but wondering which
hotel have the best reputation for food.
Prefer to be waited on rather than "theme
nights, etc". TIA

Only been to one, The Moon Palace, outside of Cancun and can say, DON'T go there for the food. VERY bland and the same things over and over. I think most AI's only have buffetts in the price, whereas the restaurants on site where you are 'waited on' will cost extra.

AI and good food are mutually exclusive terms.
Mexico has fabulous cuisine and restaurants why not step outside your cocoon and try some?

If you're leaving the kids at home, I would highly recommend the Riu Palace which is situated on the best stretch of beach near town of Playa. The food was superb, buffet offerings for breakfast, lunch & dinner, but also a Brazilian restaurant and a la carte(personal service) choices(no extra charge here either)! It's wonderful-feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

My wife and me went to Aventura Last Sept., the breakfast buffet is great, lunch was usually done off-site, and dinner, or "suppa" was quite good. We ate from the buffet our last night, and it was actually pretty decent. The real treat was the res.- only restaurant, (forgot the name). The menu did not change, but there were 5 apps, 6 entrees, more than enough to satisfy the curious palate. The lamb chops with chipotle cream sauce were excellent, and the cold seafood app. was good enough to have every night. Service was Very good. Hint..... eat fairly early and go do something... better service.. no crowds, retire later and sleep better. A+ rating for food. Great grounds and rooms.

Without a doubt, the Royal Hideaway....We're talking 'fine dining' folks!...All the restaurants are ala carte...There is a breakfast buffet but if you prefer there's a restaurant that serves ala carte breakfast....
Of course, you're getting what you pay for here!!!...

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me...

LIZ

I couldn't recommend the Royal Hideaway any stronger. It is fantastic. You will have difficulty finding a comperable resort not only in Mexico, but anywhere.
The food, staff, and rooms were all first class. It's expensive, but I feel a good value. You won't regret it.
