Where to stay in PV?

Where should 2 single girls stay to maximize their fun in PV? Downtown or Marina Vallarta? We were thinking the Velas Vallarta Grand suite which is in marina Vall. but don't want to be too far from the action. Does anyone know anything about this hotel?

The resort gets good reviews as I remember. The Marina is about 10-15 mins. by taxi from El Centro costing maybe 50 peso. The local bus is easy to use for 4 (or 4.5?) peso and 20-25 mins. ride.

Personally I prefer to stay in Old Town (south of the river also called Zona Romantica) because then you can walk everywhere. But the hotels are not as fancy and there's no real resorts in that area.

It all depends on what you want to do, I wouldn't do all inclusive because there are too many places to dine in P.V. I just returned from the Marriott and must say it is the best hotel I have been to in P.Vallarta and I have been to many hotels in the 16yrs we have been going. It is located it the Marina as is the Velas Vallarta, there
are many things to do at the Marina location however if you prefer to be close to town then try the Sheraton it is withing walking distance and it is a great hotel very modern and nicely done.
If you would like to discuss this further email me [email protected]

For two single girls I would recommend the Fiesta Americana or the Krystal. Both are closer to downtown and to the nigh life. Marina Vallarta is nice but you will need to pay more for transportation to downtown. Also Krystal has one of the best night-clus in PV.

Christine's (is the club at Krystal).

Krystal has not had good reviews lately I stayed there about 13 yrs ago was great under new mgmnt not too good now. I have stayed at the Fiesta Americana the only problem I had there was getting the room I wanted the front desk was not very friendly other than that it was a very nice hotel and not far from town. Good luck
