Where to Stay in Placencia

I will be visiting Placencia, Belize in August and I am trying to decide where to stay. Currently, I am considering (1)The Inn at Robert's Grove, (2)Laru Beya, or (3)Mirasol Beach Apartments. Any information on these accomodations (especially Mirasol) would be greatly appreciated! Our friends are staying at Chabil Mar and we would like to stay somewhat close to them, but don't want to pay the prices for Chabil Mar or Turtle Inn. I know Laru Beya doesn't have TV in the rooms, but is there a common area with television/phone service? I can't find ANY reviews on Mirasol, but the website looks nice :) Thanks in advance for your help!

RG and LB are next to each other, about 5 miles from Chabil Mar. RG has TV, LB does not.

We stayed at Roberts Grove three years ago and loved it. The standard room was spacious and beautiful, the food was excellent and the staff was extremely nice. It is easy to get to town and other resorts by bike (which the resort has) or taxi. They also have a Mexican restaurant across the street from the resort which was excellent also.

I would stay in Maya Beach, just up from Placencia. Maya beach hotel is a great place:

if you want to stay in the village the mirasol is a beautiful, new place, on the beach. close to everything. a little closer to chabil mar is the miramar apartments, the older ones are on the beach, the new ones, right behind. both are very nice. george cowdrey's guesthouse, beautiful. his e-mail address is [email protected] or find it on the placencia.com website.

We stayed in Robert's Grove about 1 1/2 years ago, and loved it! The rooms were nice, the grounds were really beautiful and the staff was nice. The hammocks on the beach and out on the dock are wonderful.
