My comment was in comparison to the Mayan coast there is not much too explore in the PV area besides the city.
The Mayan coast has Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum, Akumal. I've been to PV several times, Cabo, Acapulco, Cancun, and PDC. Of all of these I'd recommend PDC. |
So glad to hear the storm looks to be weakening or at least veering away from the coast. Looks like we all have our favorite places, right now, back at the old grind, I'd be happy to be in PV or Cancun or PDC -- any of 'em -- right now. Is it all right if I love all 3?

There was no hurricane in Puerto Vallarta, thankfully.

Yeah less than .2 of rain after all the doomsayers warning folks away. Now lets hope Cabo escapes also along with one of my other favorite spots La Paz.

hey :-) i love la paz too
not anything along the lines of what our OP is looking for, but a wonderful place to visit nonetheless. hopefully the storm will spare further damage. |
Puerto Vallerta was nice, the people were friendly and helpful. We stayed at Blue Bay Getaway Adults only. Nothing special but it was a lot of fun. The best clubs to check out there are the Zoo and Christine. Cancun, Oasis Cancun didn't have the best food however it is way the party's at. The clubs to check out are Coco Bongo, La Boom, DaddyOs & Bulldog Cafe. The shopping is awesome there but Cancun is a totally cash grab. I would ultimately pick Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playacar (5mins from Playa del Carmen) or stay in any Riu resort. You will probably pay a bit more but it is well worth it. If you wanna party or shop, 5th Ave is the best and the best clubs are Blue Parrot and Mambo Cafe.
