Where to stay in Cabo?

For my parents 40th wedding anniversary my brothers and I have decided to send them on a trip. My parents love Mexico and they really love sport fishing...so Cabo sounded like a good place. We are looking for recommendations on hotels and resorts. It would be nice if it was quiet, near the beach-or on it and not on the party scene. However, a nice pool and and pretty gardens would be great. I haven't been to Mexico-any ideas would be really appreciated!
Hotel Finisterra & Solmar Suites, both located on the ocean side of the peninsula are very nice. Only a moderate walk or a very short cab ride or water taxi ride to all of the downtown restaurants and bars, yet far enough away from the party scene to
maintain a romantic ambiance! Solmar also has it's own charter fishing fleet, although I always recommend Picante Sportfishing.

No matter where they stay they will have a great time!

If they want to stay closer to the town, you could check out the Bungalows - they have a web site, just do a search. Stay away from Bahia Condo and Plaza Los Glorias. Bahia Condo is under new management and has really gone downhill and there is no guarantee that even with prepaid reservations, you will have a room. Plaza los Glorias has MAJOR plumbing problems and last year, there was a break in the water lines over the restaurant and you can imagine what the diners had to put up with.

Good luck.

My husband and I spent a heavenly week at the Westin. This is in the area known as the "corridor". It was the nicest hotel we have stayed at and we have travelled all over the world. We spent a little extra and stayed in their Club rooms, which provided free breakfast and happy hour with food every day. Very much worth the extra cost. The resort was beautiful. Highly recommend it.

For a more relaxing pace away from the "not so nice" atmosphere of the town of Cabo San Lucas, try the El Presidente Forum resort about 20 minutes north of town. Very nice, quiet, laid back, beautiful beach and gardens. I think they will like it very much.
