Where to stay?

My husband & I are planning a trip to Costa Rica for our 10th anniversary. We would like to stay at a nice romantic resort on the Pacific
Coast and take day trips. Any suggestions?
Thank you.

picks36, Happy upcoming Anniversary!

You may want to start by doing a search of the Costa Rica forum. Just to see what you would get, I did a search in the Costa Rica forum of Romantic Hotels, and yep there was a huge selection of topics. Search - Romantic Hotels, Honeymoons, or the particular area. (you may have already done this, it took me a while to realize I could!)

Also, you may want to repost your request in the Costa Rica section of the Latin America forum. And in the subject line something like "Romantic Hotel Suggestions for 10th Anniversary". Don't worry about giving too much information. The more information you provide, the better info you will receive.

Some suggestions of beach areas to begin researching: Manuel Antonio, Tamarindo, Malpais/Santa Teresa all have hotels that are constantly recommended for romantic spots.

Hope that helps to get you started. The researching can sometimes be overwhelming, but the trip is so worth it!

My boyfriend & I stayed at Casa Rosa in Tamarindo. It was amazingly peaceful and relaxing, while also being a short walk to town along the beach. Next door was Hotel Captain Suizo, which looked to be a very nice resort, so you may like that more.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't find Costa Rica to be romantic or a place to go to find romance. It is a place of adventure where you can see incredible wildlife, jungles, mountains, oceans(which are not clear blue like the carribean, but still beautiful) and more than you can ever imagine, but romantic? If I want romance, I go to pristine white beach resorts that cater to my every need, I did not find that in C/R,nor would I want to.

We've been to several wonderful locations in CR now. But, based on what I've been reading all along, if it were MY anniversary I'd head to Bosque del Cabo.
