thanks for the insight. We, too, have been very pleased with the buses. We took the bus from Mexico City to Oaxaca and back before Covid and it was great. Everyone has given me lots to think about. Hopefully and thankfully , this won't be our last trip to Mexico, so I imagine if we go north one time, we'll go south another. I did think about Guatemala, but kind of have my heart set on going back to Oaxaca and exploring San C.

Do you drive? Driving down the baja is a fun adventure and there are some nice towns to stop by and explore.
