Where to Eat in Tamarindo Area?
Hi my wife and I will be traveling to Costa Rica at the end of February and were looking for suggestions on some good places to eat around the Tamarindo area. We'll be staying on Playa Flamingo. Thanks in advance!

We really enjoyed Outback Jack's in Brasilito which is just down the road from Flamingo - best coconut shrimp I've ever had! Brasilito also has the Happy Snapper and an Italian place whose name I've forgotten (Il Forno??) which was very good.
I've heard the best place in Brasilito is now closed - Camaron Dorado. It was directly on the beach and new zoning laws put it in violation of the minimum distance or something. If it is open though, you should go there for sure.
We took a catamaran trip out of Flamingo, really enjoyed the kayaking and snorkeling off some island.
Enjoy your trip!

You have some great options in Flamingo. Do not miss Mar Y Sol for dinner and Marie's is excellent as well. Camoron Dorado in Brasilito was open last month and the Italian restaurant Il Forno is very good as well. I am heading back next week and will update you if I find any others.

for some good local food in the area, visit Soda Pleamar just outside of Flamingo, right on the beach, lovely
Chola, in Potrero (the next town north) is right next to El Castillo, where we haven't eaten yet, but hear is good too.
I am not as big a fan as others of Camaron Dorado. while the beach location is lovely (as long as you spray your feet first) the wait staff and wandering minstrels are a bit too pushy. The grilled squid is to die for, so I always go back.
