where is the most beautiful beach??

Hi <BR> <BR>Would like some sugestions on where there is a nice beach, powdery soft white sand, blue water, NO SEAWEED, No pebbles, no rough waters. would like to swim for awhile without dodging around things. Thanks

Lisa Oct 10th, 2001 02:55 PM

Hi Sue <BR>The beach in Varadero, Cuba is miles and miles of powdery white sand. The water is perfect to swim in on most days. There are few rocks and the water is calm.

Bay of Tenacatita! <BR> <BR>adios! <BR>mexicodan <BR>www.lamaznaillamexico.bizland.com/lamrentals

Punta Cana Dominican Republic. <BR>The Bay at Tenacatita has coarse brown sand, much coarser than the powder at Punta Cana. <BR>Haven't been to Cuba but I've been told Varadero is overbuilt and crawling with drunken Canadians.

My vote goes to Tulum, Mexico. It is astounding what exists 2 short hours south of Cancun!

The entire Quintana Roo coast, from Cancun - Tulum - Xcalak, is blessed with many wonderful, different beaches some with breaks in the reef allowing for more surf, and many protected by the reef where there is little wave action like in Akumal and Tankah area. We also <BR> have many cenotes near Tankah for great diving and snorkeling. <BR> <BR> Some web sites to visit for more info and pictures below. <BR> <BR> http://CasaTropical.com <BR> Casa Tropical Tankah... Romantic, beachfront villa, located on privately <BR> owned,1/2 acre, Tankah, Mexico, a 1 hour drive south of Cancun airport, <BR> 3 miles north of the Tulum ruins, with other major archaeological sites <BR> within driving distance. Great views with barrier reef just offshore, and a <BR> cenote up the beach for diving, snorkeling or swimming, jungle style. Two <BR> separate guests quarters with kitchenette, private patios, <BR> maid, gardener, manager. <BR> <BR> Weather http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/76590.html <BR> <BR> Weather Base <BR> http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/w...=509567&refer= <BR> <BR> <BR> Hidden Worlds snorkel & dive tours of cenotes <BR> http://hiddenworlds.com.mx/ <BR> <BR> Check out this web site for tours lead by the Friends of Sian Ka'an group. <BR> It is a non-profit organization and tour guides are usually biologists. Very <BR> informative tours lead by a very worthwhile organization. <BR> Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve <BR> http://www.cancun.com/siankaan/

Yick, didn't like Mexican beaches at all!!! Try the carribean...maybe St. Martin,(french side) St. John, St. Lucia, Aruba, and the most beautiful beaches in the world...Anguilla. (A small island just 16 miles long...30 minute ferry ride from St. Martin.

MALDIVES!!!!!!!!!!!

If I tell you it will be posted for all to see. Why would I want thousands of "new" people invading the beaches I love?<BR>M

why Jan 21st, 2002 05:04 AM

M-<BR>Why tell us your favorite? Because this is a travel site to share information! If you're going to be selfish, don't post. <BR>My vote goes to St. John<BR>

The private beach @ Hotel Bora Bora. Multicolored fish swim up to you for the bread piece offerings and the warm waters are so clear you can see from your chin down to your toes as they wriggle in the very fine soft sand.

Without a doubt, Governor's Beach (yes, right behind the Governor's House, and it's public) on Grand Cayman. Perfect. Excellent snorkeling too, about 200 yard offshore.

My vote goes to the beaches of Guana Cay in the Abacos islands of the Bahamas. Will never forget swimming in the moonlight and being able to see your own feet at night!!

White Haven Beach in the Whitsunday Islands off the coast of Austrailia...but you can only get there by boat. Of course, that's one of the reasons it's the best! Besides beautiful, clear, very calm water and long white sand beach, it's not at all crowded..maybe 3 or 4 people in a half mile. Fabulous.

Phi Phi Island, Thailand.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

The beach you describe is what I always look for. I have searched throughout Mexico, the Southern Carribean, Punta Cana, the Bahammas and feel the best beach is in Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda. I also like Cane Garden Bay on Tortola.

Sal Sep 14th, 2002 10:46 PM

Acapulco, nice powdery white sand, calm waters.

Caribbean Specialist Sep 15th, 2002 08:02 AM

Turks and Caicos or Punta Cana

sand seeker Jan 8th, 2003 08:53 PM

Anywhere in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic -- plus lots of beautiful palm trees. Paradise! (Puerto Plata's beaches don't compare)<BR><BR>Tulum, Mexico has gorgeous beaches (better than Playa del Carmen or Cancun)

Eleuthera, Bahamas. The white-pink beach was the softest I have ever felt. The water was beautiful clear and blue. No rocks where we were, no seaweed. This beach was not near a hotel. The owner of the hotel drove a bunch of us there and picked us up later.Sorry to say I cant remember the names of the hotel or the beach, its been awhile. Next choice would be Aruba. Wide, white, soft beaches, some with large rocks, some with none.We rented a car and drove the coast and checked them all out. Fun. Punta cana Dominican has brown sand and does not compare to either.

shelly Jan 9th, 2003 07:00 AM

Forgot to mention that Puerto Plata, Dominican has coarse brown sand and the water is not blue, it has more of an emerald color. Wasnt impressed.

Harbour Island, Bahamas, pristine, magnificant, heaven on earth.<BR><BR>http://www.islandinns.com/45.html<BR><BR>

Dee Jan 9th, 2003 05:37 PM

The north shore of Cancun. The eastern shore has waves that can get rough at times. Beautiful white powder beach, no seaweed nor any fish.

Lewis Jan 11th, 2003 07:04 AM

Turks and Caicos, without a doubt!!

kindredspirits Feb 19th, 2003 11:58 AM

I have traveled far and wide and can say that the best beach for sand, surf and isolation exists in oahu hawaii. I lived there and it is located about 5 miles from honululu behind a nursing home. Park in front and go to the front counter and they will let you into the back which is a huge beach completly unused and isolated. Great boogie boarding. Second is an island of the coast of Belize that we rented for a few days called st. bart that included our own chef for 50 bucks a night. Third which is actually first but very tough to get to is the seychelles. Go there and you will be spoiled forever.period...
